What's coming to Rate Studio.
A look at what we are working on and what we are considering next. It is a direction, not a promise: priorities change as we hear from customers, and nothing here has a committed date. When something ships, it moves to What's New.
Being built or planned for the next releases.
These are the items we expect to work on first.
Department list import
Load your list of departments from a spreadsheet, with the pool each one belongs to, instead of typing them one at a time.
Revenue by department
Enter and report budget revenue by department as well as by business line, to match how many contractors track their work.
Account-level budget worksheet
A smart Excel template with drop-downs for account, pool, and department, so you can build the Cost Rollup in a spreadsheet and bring it in without losing accounts.
California overtime
Daily overtime rules (time and a half after 8 hours in a day, double time after 12), so California budgets are not understated.
Improvements we plan to make.
Smaller changes that make the tool clearer and safer to rely on.
Draft and Final labels on Budget Module reports
Reports will say whether the period they come from is a Draft or locked as Final.
Roll-up periods
Combine months into quarters or a full year, so you can compare a year-to-date period with a budget.
Clearer display of excluded and netted accounts
A plainer view of which accounts are left out of the rates and which are netted against others, and why.
Protection for locked periods
A trial balance could not be imported into a period that is locked as Final.
Ideas we are considering.
Bigger ideas. We would like to hear whether they matter to you.
Unallowable cost checklist
A guided review of the common FAR 31.205 unallowable cost categories, to support audit readiness.
Incurred cost submission support
Support for building the schedules of an incurred cost submission from the same data you already keep in Rate Studio.
Optional cloud-saved files
An optional way to keep your files in a secure hosted account. Saving to a file on your own computer would always remain available.
